OKC Is Serious

Especially on defense.

I'm gonna throw a curveball this morning and start the show by saying, no disrespect to the Thunder. That's all. There's no BUT. This isn't the Charles Barkley thing where I say no disrespect and then you know what's coming next... some disrespect.

He's not wrong, but this is not that. I'm saying no disrespect to the Thunder and I mean it. Because those dudes probably haven't gotten enough Jungle run. And Thunder, it’s your own fault, because you’re making it all look a little too easy. Even if you're way too young to be making it look this easy.

OKC still hasn’t lost a game in the playoffs despite being the youngest team in the playoffs. In fact, they're the youngest team to ever win a round in any NBA playoffs. They're the youngest team to ever snag a one seed. And the thing is, they don’t really play or look or have the vibe of a bunch of neophytes or noobs. These dudes are serious. Especially on defense.

These dudes play defense like a bunch of hardened, grizzled vets. As Luka and the Mavs found out last night.

Brutal night for my dude up on the second floor. In fact, you could say that Luka didn’t really make it down from the second floor last night. Unfortunately, Luka seems to be having a lot of trouble WORKING HIS WAY down the stairs on that bum knee. That’s the thing about walk-up apartments on the second floor, you kinda need your legs to get up and down. Just like you kinda need your legs to get up and down the court.

And right now it looks like Luka has no legs. He's got the jelly legs. He's clearly still bothered by that knee sprain from the Clippers series. And last night he looked like he had no extra gears, IN FACT, he had no gears at all. All he had was a step back that wouldn't go in. It's like he was just trying to launch shots from the second floor. And if his step back isn’t working, forget about it.  Fact is nothing is working for him right now.  Fact is, and I’ll be real about this, I hit Dallas to win this series before they tipped.  But I did so thinking the dude from the second floor would show up like the dude from the second floor.  But that’s obviously not going to happen.  That’s not a one off either: he hasn’t been right since it happened: and he himself said he won’t be right again until the offseason.  Just look at the dude and his energy and vibe: it’s not his fault but it’s all wrong.  And if the dude from the second floor isn’t right, and he’s not, that means there’s even more pressure on the flat earth truther to do even more.  And Kyrie Irving isn’t beating this OKC squad by himself.

In other words, the heat is gonna get turned up on Dallas real fast, suddenly it's gonna be like 99 point 9 Fahrenheit degrees in Dallas.

Gotta enjoy the vega while you can. But,  yes, I have concerns about Luka and the Mavs here.  But I’m no doctor.  And the dude from the second floor knows his body better than anyone, and apparently, he’s not that concerned about the knee, nor the fact that they just got worked in game one...because of...you know....his knee:

Who cares, we lost.  On the one hand, I Love that. Love that accountability. And love the lack of excuses. Love the lack of BS. He’s not blaming the refs. He’s not blaming his knee. He’s not chucking the head coach into the woodchipper. He's just saying the obvious... he needs to be better and they need to be better. And it doesn't really matter how he's feeling.

All true. But again, it wasn’t just one bad night: this dude doesn’t look right. And it’s because he’s right. Anyone can see it, no matter what he says. And while they’re young, the Thunder know it is: they sense he’s wounded. They smell blood in the water. They’re not here to take part. They’re here to snatch souls and bark like dogs.

They seriously have their entire arena barking like dogs, its wild. Also a little weird that we could be headed toward a WOOVES v DOGS Western Conference Finals.

Yes, the barking is a little goofy, but I just can’t hate on Jalen Williams for starting it. It’s hard to hate on JDub for any reason, case in point, the way he hit the post game podium last night.

What an all-time take. “I get paid millions of dollars to dribble a basketball up and down the court. It’s hard not to be happy.”

I don't know man, you should tell that to every other major NBA star because they all seem pretty miserable. In fact, you should go tell that to Kyrie during the next game, because nobody seems more miserable all the time than that dude. Well except for when he’s going full Kyspiracy and lecturing us about how flat the earth is.

And again, Kyspiracy, if you’re one of the most prominent ballers ever...and you are....just ask you....now would be a great time to show it because your dude isn’t’ right and they need you more than ever.  Pick him up.

So there's your love OKC, I said no disrespect and I meant it.

And Chowd Half Fam, don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about you either. You just have the same issue as OKC right now, it's too easy.

The only drama in Boston right now is trying to figure out what's up with Jayson Tatum and why he's not really looking like Jayson Tatum right now. But it's also hard to get too worked up about that while the Chowds keep curb-stomping teams.

Yes, the Celtics will need good Tatum to win it all. If they want to lift the Larry O, they will eventually need Tatum on his game. But it's tough for me to say there's some huge problem in Chowd Town after a 25 point win that was never ever in doubt, not even for a second. That game felt over before it even tipped off.
