This is a big Mike McDaniel house. And I dig the dude for a bunch of reasons. It's not just because he's hilarious, which he is. And it's not just because he's weird, in the weird is good way, which he also is. And it's not just because he's different and kind of peculiar and odd and unlike any other NFL head coach. And partied his way out of the league before hitting rock bottom, rebuilding himself and coming all the way. I mean, it’s not any one of those things: it’s all of those things and there’s even more to it than that.

I feel like what gets lost in all of that is the main thing... The dude is a damn good coach. That's the reason why the rest of it works. If he sucked, then him being quirky and peculiar and constantly cracking weird jokes would not work nearly as well. The fact that he's a very effective head coach is the reason why the Capri sweatpants and the sideline vape pen and his goofy press conferences all work.

But I think all of those things also play into a MikeMcD misperception. Like people think he’s a pushover or something. That’s he soft: because he’s not that, and he’s Ivy. And because he’s funny and kinda peculiar and different from your typical head coach, it feels like people think he doesn’t command respect. Or doesn't really run that locker room.

If you think that, you should check in with his biggest star, Tyreek Hill. Because the Cheetah told an amazing story on the Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast about Mike McD checking him HARD after the playoff loss in Kansas City

Look at Coach Nerd go... We pay you all this money for what??? It’s the thing every single coach wants to say at some point  to their stars and best players, but so often don’t.  But Mike McD has to cocohones to actually say it. And remember, it’s the Cheetah who told us about Mike McD’s cocohones in the first place. Mike McD's giant cocohones are nothing new.

Honestly, that's shades of the Hood Man calling out Tom bacon face right to his bacon face, in front of the whole team. Back to better times for Hood Man, when he was actually winning Super Bowls rather than being unemployed.

Look, the Dolphins still have a huge problem: Tua is not Mahomes. It's the same problem everyone has in the AFC, and it's a big problem. Miami is also not very good away from Miami. Which makes it hard for them to win any playoff games on the road, let alone when those playoff games just happened to be the fourth coldest game in NFL history.

Forget frigid KC, although I never will, but forget frigid KC and forget going on the road, the Dolphins haven't been able to find a playoff win of any kind in almost a quarter of a century. Every other team in the NFL has won a playoff game since the Dolphins last won a playoff game. Think about that for a second... That's what Mike McD is up against. A quarter century without even a hint of playoff success.

And that's what I’m saying will change in Miami under Mike McD. When I hear stuff like this from the Cheetah, that's what it tells me. These dudes are gonna get there.

Incredible: if I hit any of the x4ti with a remind me, we’re paying you all this money for what?!  They’d be on a dead sprint to the radio portal looking for an easier gig that would pay them more. So credit to McDaniel for not being afraid of losing his star receiver’s support and credit to ‘reek for owning it, saying it pumped him up and that he needs to be held accountable and not being a diva about it. I know these dudes haven’t won a playoff game in forever, but it’s not a question of if, but a matter of when.  I’m not saying they’re super bowl, but I am saying with that genius, hilarious nerd leading them, they’ll get up off the mat soon enough. Especially if he’s up in the grill of his best players telling them do better as asking them to remind him of why they’re paying them so much.
