Lakers vs Nuggets Playoff Preview

Remember when the Lakers wanted all the smoke? And remember when AD said “we can’t wait” to get the Nuggets back for all the talking they did after sweeping the Lake Show out of the West Finals? Well, the Lakers don’t remember any of that.

It was only three days ago that Darvin Ham fired off the coolest line he’s ever dropped as the Laker head coach. 

Pretty great right, I have to hand it to the Ham. It's pretty straightforward too... They want the Nuggets. They want all the smoke from the defending champs. 

Hey Ham, maybe you should have checked with LeCap on that one first though. Because I’m not sure you and LeCap are on the same page. I’m not sure you and LeCap are ever on the same page, about anything. But you seem especially disconnected on this one.. Because while the Ham’s out here saying he wants all the smoke, LeBron is out here basically saying ‘what smoke? There's no smoke.'

Here’s LeBag at Laker practice yesterday acting like the Nuggets are just another team and it’s just another series and everyone is making too big a deal of the recent history between these teams. Yeah, LeCap, sure we aren't.

We’re putting too much emphasis on the rematch?? Oh really? So we’re just supposed to ignore that these dudes swept your asses out of the playoffs last year? And then beat you three more times during the regular season. And have now beaten you eight times in a row? That’s not relevant information? Huh? We’re just supposed to ignore all that? 

Classic LeBag… LeBag’s all like you guys are way overemphasizing the fact that they keep kicking our ass. Stop talking about it already. For real though. Stop. 

Yeah, no we’re gonna keep talking about it. At least until you beat them. Maybe win A game against these dudes first before you try to tell us we’re putting too much emphasis on the fact that you can’t beat these dudes. Even once. Until you actually do beat those dudes, it’s pretty damn relevant information. That's why everyone is talking about it.

But that doesn’t even bother me as much as LeCap's claim that he hasn’t been looking forward to the rematch. Oh really? Really dude? Because I seem to remember AD saying that he was looking forward to getting those dudes back before the season even started. And he looped you into it too, LeCap, so you might want to get with Street Clothes on this and get on the same page. 

What happened to that, LeCap? What happened to those conversations? What happened to “we can’t wait?” Emphasis on the WE.

All that’s actually happened since AD dropped that quote is Denver's kicked your ass three more times. You would think a competitor like LeBag would be more fired up than ever to get these dudes. Not acting like we’re the ones making this narrative up and putting too much emphasis on it. 

I already thought AD’s version of I CAN’T WAIT was somehow even more lame than the Dino in Vegas version. But LeBag just somehow made it even lamer. It was such a goofy statement at the time, and it’s even goofier when you back off it just when you finally get a chance to really back it up. That's so whack.

And so is LeCap also saying quote "it shouldn't be personal at all." Talk about a reverse MJ. It better be personal, dude.

Y’all better want these guys. Y’all better want revenge. Y’all better take eight stomping in a row personally. Y’all better take getting swept out of the West Finals personally. Y'all better bring some edge to this series because that’s the only chance you have in this series.

You better bring some edge and you better bring it right away, you better jump these dudes in Game 1 tomorrow night and hope they can’t get rhythm going after a week off. You better bring some edge and you better bring the good DLo with you, too.

That’s really the key to this series, D’Angelo Russell, just ask anyone in Car Flag Nation, they know. Of course, Street Clothes needs to stay aggressive and stay out of his street clothes. But really what they need is the locked in DLo they had on Tuesday against the Pels. 

Which is why he’s the one dude who can get away with saying nothing changes for him in his preparation for the defending champs. Because he really shouldn't change anything from Tuesday night, when he was straight cash. So I'm actually ok with DLo saying this.

You better be ready to compete, dude. And again, WE'RE not making it a Denver/DLo thing, YOU made it a Denver/dlo thing when you played like total ass against those dudes in the playoffs last year. 

Russell averaged 6 points on 32% shooting and 13% from three in that sweep. And ultimately lost his spot in the starting lineup for Game 4. That's why there's a Denver/dlo thing, nobody is making that up. 

And if that happens again, the Lakers are absolutely cooked. They’re toast. They may be toast anyway. They probably are toast anyway. They almost certainly are toast anyway. But if DLo shoots 13% from three and winds up getting benched again, you can book it right now... This series will be another beat down.

Oh, excuse me, my bad LeCap. I'm not supposed to mention that other beat down. I'm not supposed to put emphasis on the last eight games against those dudes. What a terrible take, even for LeBag. 

It better be about the past, or else that eight in a row is about to be twelve in a row. And nobody is over emphasizing anything, we are just pointing out the glaring fact that you haven't been able to beat these guys. And we're gonna keep pointing it out until you... You know... Beat these guys. 

I’ll even given you a prediction. Nuggets in five. You’ll win one. But it won’t be because LeBron went off. Or AD was unconscious, or d-lo went laser. The reason the Lakers will avoid the embarrassment of getting swept will be because of the legend, Gabe Vincent: that legend has been busted but he finally has made it back and is once going legendary gaucho: let me tell something the lake show goes as Gabe Vincent; and Gabe Vincent is not going to let them get swept.  I see you legend: proud of you gaucho fam: even if the nuggets are about to beat you down.  No shame in that, fam: it’s bigger than you.  But I see you player, go do what you do: rep the gaucho nation proud and dominate on a big stage like you always do.
